Mr Ralph Hamers
CEO and Chairman of the Executive Board
ING Group


Ralph Hamers (1966, Dutch nationality) has been a member of the Executive Board of Amsterdam-based ING Group since 13 May 2013. On 1 October 2013, he was appointed chairman of the Executive Board.

Ralph Hamers also serves as chairman of the Management Board Banking and the Management Board Insurance.

ING is a global financial institution of Dutch origin offering banking, investments, life insurance and retirement services to 61 million private, corporate and institutional customers in Europe, North and Latin America, Asia and Australia. With a diverse workforce of about 82,000 people, ING is dedicated to setting the standard in helping its customers manage their financial future.

Ralph Hamers joined ING in 1991 as relationship manager for Structured Finance in the Global Clients Division. In 1995, he became head of the Media Finance Group, a department with offices in Los Angeles and Amsterdam. A few years later, in 1997, he was appointed deputy general manager at Global Lending Risk Management, and in 1999 as general manager of ING Romania & Yugoslavia.

In 2002, he was appointed general manager of the ING Bank branch network. In 2005, Ralph Hamers was appointed chief executive officer of ING Bank Netherlands, followed by the appointment as global head Commercial Banking Network in 2007. In 2010, he was appointed head of Network Management for Retail Banking Direct & International.

In that year, he also became a member of the ING Banking Management team. From 1 March 2011 until his appointment as Executive Board member of ING Group, Ralph Hamers was CEO of ING Belgium and Luxembourg.

Ralph Hamers holds a Master of Science degree in Business Econometrics/Operations.
